New Skoda Superb launched

Skoda India launched the all new re-designed premium sedan, the Superb last week. The new Superb comes with the new 1.8 liter TSI petrol engine and is tag priced at Rs.18.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The head of sales and marketing in India for Skoda Thomas Kuehl unveiling the car said the company expects to sell more than a thousand units of the car this year.The new Superb defines style, luxury and safety and advanced technology from all accords.
Some of the key features of this version are:

1.front and rear parking sensor
2.pedal shift for the seven-speed automatic gearbox
3.Eight airbags
4.Adaptive Front Light System (AFS) to improve visibility
5.Touch screen display to control air conditioning
6.Audio and park-assist functions

Under the Bonnet

The car definitely lives up to its name as it is one of the most sophisticated saloons in its segment.The Czech manufacturer has made sure that the Indian model of Superb has all the ingredients to compete in this exclusive segment.Powered by 2.8L 30-valve V6 petrol engine, it pumps out a massive 193 bhp of  power at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 280 Nm @ 3200 rpm. The diesel variant is powered by 2.5 L V6 engine that pumps out 163 bhp and a maximum torque of  350 Nm @ 3000 rpm.Both the variants have standard 5-speed automatic transmission and the car gains a top speed of 235kmph with its front wheel drive.

Design & Style

Skoda Superb is packed with advanced styling and luxurious comforts. Much of the exterior design is similar to the yet to be launched VW Passat. Overall this new design is quite distinct with the models in its stable.

The cabin is well complimented with the exterior looks. some of the features are:
