Varun Gandhi’s Controversial Speech
A sad day in Indian politics, when we see a member of such a proud family going on to damage the feelings of a community just for the sake of playinig some dirty politics. Please realize that this post is aimed only to bring to people some excerpts of the speech and not disturb any religious sentiments.

English Version [Translated]
“This is not the (Congress symbol) ‘hand’, this is the hand of the ‘lotus’. It will cut the throat of the (derogatory reference to a Muslim) after the elections… Varun Gandhi will cut… Cut that hand, cut it, cut it.”
“Go to your villages and give the call that all Hindus must unite to save this area from becoming Pakistan…”
“Is it not true… that if (a woman) is asked her name and she says Bimla Devi, she is told we’ll see, we’ll think (about giving Government aid), give us Rs 5,000 first… But if her name is Saira Bano or whatever begum Hukum Begum… I don’t even know… These people have such scary-sounding names… Karimullah, Mazharullah… If you ever encountered them at night, you’d be scared…”
“I have a sister… there was a pamphlet with pictures of all the candidates… so this child told me, ‘I didn’t know that Osama bin Laden is contesting from your area.’ I told her, ‘America couldn’t get Osama, but Varun Gandhi is going to get a lot of people after the elections.’”
“If someone slaps you, what do you do? (They say) turn the other cheek … I haven’t heard a stupider thing. If someone slaps you, you should cut off (expletive) his hand, so he can never slap anyone later.”

Varun Gandhi’s speech on Religious tolerance
Another politician seeking to make it big on the screen. After years of failure this guy tries 2 capitalise on his father’s legacy[or say notoreity?]. We Indians are tired of naming such acts as ‘disgusting’,'cheap’,'despicable’ [n wotever the thesaurus offers us],coz of the sheer no. of such desperados lurkin in each n every corner of our esteemed nation. We feel disgusted 4 a moment n 4get it,building up reasons like ‘ok this is some far off place he was talkin in’ or say ‘he is no big leader so he hardly matters’or ‘he is another just misguided youth’…wot we comfortably 4get is the filth such comments put on our secular credentials… we blame the talibanistaion of neighbouring nation on the ‘Madrasa educated narrow minded perverts’,wot do we have 2 say abt our own western educated-elite-perverts who simply choose 2 b so inspite of all the awareness??!! the 2nd lot is more dangerous than the 1rst one, n we Indians cant rest in peace until such elements have been routed out…
ya ofcourse the word ‘secular’ itself is a much maligned word 2day.but we need 2 remember that India wudnt b ‘India’ without ‘secularism’…Time 2 wake up??

I feel sorry for this deadbeat politician who has to resort to such low grade words just to gain political favour. Dr. Tej is absolutely right in saying that he is tired of terming statements like this as ‘degradable’ or what not. We all are. The very fragment sheets of our Constitution has been jeopardized with leaders like Varun Gandhi and many others before him.
Cool it folks..he is after all a no experienced young kid who did not know how to play the words like the way our ripen and corrupt politicians do. Besides, Someone has to say that..if there is no law&order in that place almost ready to become another pakistan and our government is paying no attention to the growing problems of hindus in the area and the so called politicial parties are being quiet for the same f..g votebank politics. I sincerely appreciate this guy’s guts. I would only advice him to play his words better next time. And all the readers, next time question the MLA,MLC or MP in your own constituency who could never keep their promises and then advice others if you feel like after that.
Wat does he think anyway?? I mean,India being a democracy(or even otherwise) iz ok to have personal opinions…if dats wat it is..
FINE if Varun dislikes the Muslims..
But we’d rather more appreciate if he kept that to himself,rather than puplicising such a statement,that pretty obviously WOULD cause a nationwide tension..
Besides,we are left assuming that he is only indulging in those “filthy” ways of earning popularity.
And yeah,the guy has GUTS.So hats off 2 dat..
Only wish he cud channelise it better.
