Internet Explorer 8 (IE 8) vs New Google Chrome

IE 8 all set for release after Beta testing. Microsoft is all ready to release the Internet Explorer 8 version web browser on Thursday. The application can be downloaded for free by licensed MS OS users from the Microsoft website from 9 a.m. Thursday Pacific Time.

IE8 was subjected to beta testing for over a year; however, Thursday it will be in public domain. IE8 will be compatible for Windows Vista and also Windows XP.

But the new release will heat up the browser war between MS’ internet explorer and Google’s Chrome. A survey reports that former has over 70% of the market share the Google’s most recently launched browser claims just about 3% market share.

Google Chrome is still under Beta testing and will need time to consolidate its market share. But let us see how these two browsers differ;

Internet Explorer 8 beta version is a browser leader with good functionality. Search suggestions in IE 8 areinternet-explorer-8 great. As the user searches for one keyword, most relevant text and images are shown. In a single click the user will access web page. Tabbed browsing is one improved version with IE 8. Web slices is another feature which enables to add a part of web page as favorite. It simply slices what you like and keeps you updated. For instance on a portal you like entertainment, it keeps you updated of just that category by slicing. IE 8 also improvised on security with InPrivate browsing. It also warns the users of malware. It keeps your browsing history private. It also enables feed reading.

google chromeGoogle Chrome is a browser that is web kit based but available in 43 languages. Both Chrome and IE 8 deliver decent platform for consistent running of multiple web applications in tabbed format. But the Chrome has better look and it shows web pages faster than Internet Explorer due to a special javascript engine, V8. Additionally, it offers more security. The privacy mode ‘incognito’ which enables to secure viewed web pages so they are not present in the search history and there will be not be any cookies too on the window. Chrome has one box for address bar, search and history. However, when the user opens multiple web pages Chrome performance sucks.

    Internet Explorer 8 is very good because it is as stable as Opera. I hate the previous versions of IE like IE6 because it hangs frequently. ‘
