Dostana 2 -- Carrying the joke farther

With Abhishek Bachchan believing that “Dostana” is a brand and not only a movie, it is natural that speculations got rife about its remake. Now it has been declared, unofficially though, that the money-raking flick of 2008 will be pushed through its sequel chambers.

Dostana had the audience in virtual splits as its male protagonists fabricated their sexual orientation to get proximal to tinsel town hottie Priyanka Chopra. They feigned that they were gay so that their friend ‘Piggychops’ feel comfortable being close with them.

The story unfolds further with the inclusion of Bobby Deol who runs away with their coveted fairy leaving the studs to lick their wounds.

If rumor mills are to be believed, Dostana 2 will carry the joke farther with the guys John Abraham & Abhishek trying hard to stamp their straight orientation and yet failing to do so. Remarkably, each time they would set out to prove their natural preferences, they would be caught locked in compromising positions. This way, the Miami to Punjab sojourn will unfold.

The cast is tentatively decided and according to the grapevine, the male cast will be untouched. Director Tarun Mansukhani and Producer Karan Johar are looking for Priyanka’s replacement. Of course, our studs are not naïve enough to be stuck to a settled damsel, are they? There hasn’t been any declaration yet in regards to the female lead though.

Here is hoping that Dostana 2- the sequel, proves out to be another no-holds-barred escapade of two of the finest gentlemen of Bollywood.
