E-Mail System of Indian PMO Hacked! “Might be, “as said by sources. It was for about 3 months that the Email communications from PMO got affected and sources say that the Email system was affected by a virus program. The error was caused within the Microsoft Outlook Express between February and April months during last year.
PMO maintains that several mails that are forwarded to PMO never reached the inbox and it was only during April that authorities actually detected some problem while unawares about the amount of resultant damage.
It was CIC that brought to the notice of PMO about the problem with regards to some differences in the Hindi version of the RTI act and because of this a Squirrel Mail replaced the Microsoft Outlook Express
While India claims to be in the race with millions of IT experts such a faux paus can only be a mockery and disgrace to the claims. Certainly the IT experts at PMO should have been more alert to detect a problem like this.
Disgrace to the IT Tech wizards in the country if that a true story.
