IPL Season 2 Schedule | IPL 2009 Fate ?
So, what’s going on with the IPL season 2? If sources are to be believed its fate will be decided in few hours. BCCI
called for an emergent meeting on Sunday to decide on IPL. The onus now seems to be on Political big boss and vice president of ICC Sharad Pawar to coax government on the IPL Season 2 dates and schedules. But the government seems to be keen on General elections at this point in time.
BCCI’s emergency meeting will have all working committee members to discuss on the issue. It’s only after the Sunday’s meeting that the IPL commissioner, Lalit Modi, will discuss the situation with respective IPL franchise owners and update them of the status.
Post attack on the SL cricket team, there have been several doubts about security of top league players and the confusion only increased when Maharashtra DGP expressed inability to provide extra police personnel for security of top players of the league in view of the over burdened staff who are covering security of political leaders and asked for deferring IPL, and Mumbai Commissioner expressed readiness of the city for matches.
It’s; however, only Punjab, West Bengal, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh that signaled green for the schedules. The working committee will look into different schedules and work their way to conduct the second version of Twenty20 event in the country.
