The word is finally out regarding the IPL 2. South Africa march ahead of England in hosting the IPL 2009 (Season 2). However, IPL Tournament will see a delayed start by a weeks time and will commence on 17th of April 2009 and end by May 24th. This sudden of events happened at the South Africa’s assurances to the BCCI on the Security Issue. Cricket South Africa chief Gerard Majola has assured the Board of Control for Cricket in India top-class security for the cricketers and also use of the country’s main stadiums.

Together with this, the presence of a huge dispora of Indians in South Africa along with huge discounts, offered by the South African Government to BCCI, swept the carpets from right under the feat of England.

Durban, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth are some of the likely IPL Venues identified for SPL (I mean, IPL . The matches will start at 4 P.M IST and 8 P.M IST.

Rajasthan Royals still thinks it should have happened in India. But the Delhi Daredevils and the Sponsors are quite happy with the new venue.

Its a great opportunity for South Africa to host one of the Finest Cricketing Tournaments of BCCI. Its a Great loss for India and personally for me, I would be miss all the Cricketing Action in Eden Gardens.
