Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., is up with a launch last week. But it isn’t a sports bike, but a new upgraded Honda Activa, the gearless scooter that kick butted Kinetic out of the scooter market almost.

So what’s so appealing in the new Honda Activa?

The new Honda Activa gets some design tweak to make it more like an European scooter and it also got a few cc upping in the engine segment for those who are power hungry and complain of 102 cc in its forerunner. There are also few more interesting features; the combined braking system (CBS) is one which enables to stop the vehicle on application of either of the brakes. The storage space now comes with illumination and it has now more space. The fuel tank capacity; however, is reduced a bit to 5.7 liters, and the rear tyre comes with a tuffup tube or simple one can say that the rear tyre will now be puncture proof.

Additionally, the metal alloy used for making the scooter will be a light weight one bringing down the total weight of the 4-stroke scooter. It simply can add to the mileage, by around 15% than its predecessor, claims HMSI.

The new Honda Activa runs has a power mill of 110cc engine to give 8 bhp power at 7500 rpm and 0.9Kgm of torque at 5500 rpm. The new Honda will be the first scooter in India with CBS feature and it comes in 2 versions; a Deluxe and a Standard. The ex-showroom price of this new Honda Activa Standard version in New Delhi is Rs. 39,800.
