Google Launched China Music Download Service
Google Launches Free Music Download Service In China

Google with other music companies launches Internet music download facility now in China. The new service should be a good step to curb piracy and will thrive on advertising and is coming up with over a million tracks that include full Chinese catalogues as well as those of Sony Music Entertainment, Warner group, Universal Music and over 10 independent catalogues. However people with China IP address only can download through this service.
The new service will be a nice attempt to popularize online music in this part of the world as well as benefit from it.
There are several Chinese websites that offer illegal downloads or rather downloads of unauthorized music copies. These sites seem to care a little for the government crackdowns and or law suites against them.
The new endeavor will give Google Inc a chance to compete in an in-demand market. To support this, the Chinese web population is one of the world’s biggest; as many as 300 million web surfers and about 80% of them searching for music downloads.
