Raavan Hindi Movie Preview
It was 2004, and its five years since Mani Ratnam gave life to then dying Abhishek Bachhan‘s film career. It was Yuva with which the junior B got attention for his acting skills and not for what he has inherited. And Mani Ratnam it was with Guru, who gave the little Bachhan another super classic in bollywood industry. This time around too, Mani Ratnam and Abhishek are making waves together with Aishwarya in their upcoming enture Raavan. The film also stars Govinda(Hanuman) and Ravi Kishan and south Indian superstar Vikram(as Rama) in some very prominent roles. The movie has hit the floors and the shooting is in full throttle in first in the jungles of Kerala and now in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Abhishek is likely to loose some weight and tone up is body for the drama. Mani Ratnam’s wife and a recognized actredd from south Suhasini also has an appearance int he film.
The movie is being made in two languages Hindi and Tamil. In the Tamil version called ‘Ashokavanam‘ Vikram will essay the role of Rama and Prithviraj will don the garb of Raavan. Aishwarya Rai will play Sita in both versions.
The film is a modern day take on of Sita’s kidnapping from the Ramayana and some loosely based on shades of Stolkhome Syndrome. The plot opens up with Vikram(Ram) insulting Abhishek(Ravan)s sister. Abhishek is then going all guns out to get a revenge by kidnapping Aishwaya, the wife of Vikram. Chased by the police, they hide in the jungle. And there you go, they are in love. What follows next makes up the rest of the film. The film is supposedly a roantic thriller and it would be intersting to see how the Junior Mr and Mrs Bachhan fare at their displaying the talent.
