Sachin Tendulkar’s wax figure is unveiled in Mumbai in the presence of the cricketing great at the Taj Lands End Hotel today. Sachin commented that he is impressed with his wax figure and delighted to be honored by Madame Tussauds. A Madame Tussauds wax figure for the first time was launched outside London, this time flewn about 7000 km to be unveiled.
The figure was created by team of sculptors at Madame Tussauds Studios in West London and it took over 3 months time to create Sachin Tendulkar’s wax figure.
With the ICC World Twenty20 round the corner in June in England, cricket fans from all over can click them with Sachin’s wax figure in the London’s famous tourist spot.
Sachin Tendulkar becomes 10th Indian after Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, PV Narasimha Rao, Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan finding a place in Madame Tussauds. However, he is India’s first sportsman icon to feature at Tussauds.

Sachin Tendulkar’s wax statue that will feature in London’s Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is ready for Unveiling
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s wax statue that will feature in Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, London will be first unveiled in Mumbai on April 13. The batsman will be invited at the unveiling function planned to be held in a star Hotel on Monday April 13th 2009. It should be noted that it will be the first time in the history of Madame Tussauds to unveil the statue abroad.
The record batsman will be India’s first ever sports personality to be statued in wax and featured in the prestigious museum.
Sources say that Sachin is dressed in his white cricketing attire for the statue and it took about 100 days for the wax sculptors to create one.
Other living Indians that feature in the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum include Big B Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.

Oh! But let me confess honestly! Sachin’s wax figure is not certainly the look alike of Sachin’s likeness for sure! Or, is it only me that’s feeling so? Would like to hear from others too!

yes.. the irony is the wax pic does not look like Tendulkar.. or it can be said that it looks like an african… well I am not against any race.. but why such disfiguration.. or is it their incapability…Tend never looked like that in any period…. his looks are becoming smarter day by day… just for a comparision look at other wax figures.. which resembles almost the person itself.. (like britney – the latest)
