Chhattisgarh is 26th state of India. It was formed on 1 November 2000 out of Madhya Pradesh. It is located in the Central India. The capital city is Raipur. The name Chhattisgarh comes from Chattis meaning thirty-six and Garh meaning Fort . It is the richest state in mineral resources and major minerals including diamonds are available here. Major industries are steel, aluminium and cement plants. It is one of the biggest rice producer, known as ‘Dhan ka Katora’. It is primarily a tribal state with unique and wonderful culture. The Cities like Bastar and Jagdalpur are famous for the Tribal Crafts made of clay and metal, which are exported all over the world.
