Orissa is a state at the western coastline of India. The capital is Bhuwaneshwar. The official and widely spoken language is Oriya. Orissa is visited by thousands of tourists every year, being home to one of the Dhams of lord Vishnu, which is Jagannath Puri temple. It is also famous for the sun temple in Konark and Lingaraja temple in Bhuwaneshwar said to be having one thousand lings of lord Shiva. It also has forest resorts and beautiful beaches and Chilka Lake, the largest coastal lake in India, offering sparkling endless blue water. The Hirakund Dam is one of the largest Dams in the world. It has also got an upper hand in natural resources and is one of the biggest producers of coal, Iron ore, bauxite, steel, aluminium and electricity. It is an industrial state, a major contributor in India’s growth.
