Google Announces Launch of Android 1.5
Android 1.5 is the upgraded version of mobile platform. Google Android 1.5 is scheduled for the launch end of April with advanced features, additional APIs and technical improvements to give a new look to the Google’s mobile operating function and system. There has been much user interface refinement to the new Android 1.5.
Some of the key features of Android 1.5 are on-screen keyboard, default home-screen widgets with APIs, improved camera, enhanced GPS performance and support for speech recognition.
The web browser also gets a new look with Android 1.5 as it brings seamless integration with other web services from Google such as GTalk, YouTube, and even Picasa and have become more reliable and updated with SquirrelFish JavaScript engine. Options of in-page search, cut-n-paste and tabbed bookmarks is available with the new browser. Android 1.5 will ensure better video capture and one can upload videos to You Tube directly with this version.
Additionally, the Gmail application also stands improved with operation of batch message with Android 1.5. The new mobile platform promises quick acquisition of location (GPS) including a calendar and music player as well.
Android platform is yet to make its spread felt as only two phones use open source operating system. But, Samsung is soon going to launch three Android phones and in no time other competitors such as Sony Ericsson and Motorola will chip in.
