Rafiq Qureshi arrested on charges of child trade
Rafiq Qureshi, dad of Rubina Ali of Slumdog Millionaire fame was arrested on charges of trying to sell his minor daughter for 200,000 pounds.
Police arrested Rafiq Qureshi on a complaint lodged by the man’s former wife. According to reports on The Sun, Indian police are questioning Qureshi and they are now trying to procure all the video footage of the supposed meeting during which the deal was brokered.
Rubina’s mother Khurshida claims that she knew about the child trade deal with the Arab sheikh 2 weeks back. She knew it after her elder daughter informed of it but was reported of saying that she did not believe he would really do it. Khurshida touted her former husband and his current wife as “money-crazy” and so hatched a plan to encash on his 9-year-old daughter’s starlet fame.
It was reading media reports about the child trade that Khurshida came and lodged a complaint according police official, Prakash Salunke. Surprisingly, when Rubina was questioned she expressed interest only to stay with her father and the father, Rafiq Qureshi also expressed no intent of selling her. Even Slumdog Millionaire crew are questioning bad boy dad Qureshi to get to know the matter of fact.
