Ferrari to quit Formula 1 in 2010
Ferrari officially to quit Formula 1 in 2010 if new rules are Enacted
Ferrari joins other constructor teams in the threat to pull itself out of the 2010 Formula One Championship. The Italian automaker, Ferrari, made it clear that its team will not be featuring on the Formula One grid of 2010 should the new rules of FIA come into effect.
With this, Ferrari joins the McLaren-Mercedes, BMW-Sauber, Red Bull, Renault and Toro Rosso to oppose the new changes and FIA regulations.
The Ferrari clearly said that it will not allow its cars in the 2010 F1 grid and that the Board considers this serious and should the new regulations come to picture then the automaker will have to stop its participation forever.
It should be noted that Ferrari has been the only constructor to participate in the Formula one world championship ever since its introduction in 1950- implying that the 60 years uninterrupted participation will come to an abrupt end. The controversial budget cap rules irked many constructors, making it clearly two teams or maybe just three of the existent teams to bid for the 2010 championship. Ferrari hopes that the sporting body will meet and resolve the issue with a settlement before the entry deadline for 2010 bid.
