Live IPL Preview: Deccan Chargers vs Kings XI Punjab – May 17th, 2009

Now or never for Kings XI Punjab to revive their hope to reach the last 4. The 6-wicket win against the Delhi Daredevils would have certainly boosted the morale of the Kings and they will like to use this against DC. Needless to say, it is a must win match for KXIP, having gotten 12 points from 12 matches a win would put them at 14.

Kings XI Punjab haven’t been that consistent side this year’s IPL but their win against Delhi Daredevils showed that they have it in them and can hold on to nerve the crunch times of a match (while there are many who are whispering it could be due to match fixing). That win apart beating the Deccan Chargers in their first meet will give advantage to Yuvi’s men.

For Deccan Chargers though Rohit Sharma bailed them through an almost impossible feat and kept them in race for the last 4. A 13-ball 32 runs is what Gilchrist can cheer about the all rounder in Rohit. Gilchrist will go for a kill so they can go easily through the last 4.

those who watched yesterdays match between punjab and hyderabad were shocked at what happened on the last delivery
with 4 runs to win harris hit the last ball to square leg boundary, where bret lee misfielded and there was easily a possibility of atleast 3 runs. But to everyones shock harris gave up after 2 runs when the non striker had almost reached the end where harris was…
well, one can explain this as an instance of foolishness on the part of harris, but what makes the whole thing fishy is the fact that the commentators chose to completely ignore the happenings of the last ball…
we just cant dismiss rajastan cheif ministers recent statement that lalit modi is a ‘serial match fixer’.
