Fiat Motors has had a great success with Grande Punto in all of Europe, and is looking forward to continue the winning sags in the Indian Auto market. And, the car is certainly going to face a tough competition to other small cars in the segment such as Maruthi Suzuki Swift, Getz, Tata Indica, and Fabia. Very sleek looking Punto is. Only problem is, it is very small car in 5-7 lakhs. in 6-7 lakhs you can get a full fledged People Mover Like Mahindra xylo so people will obviously go for bigger deal. In any case xylo has already eaten up a lot of market of the sedans, hatchbacks and other Utility vehicles like innova.

A hatchback in the range of 5-7 lakhs is not digestible when you are getting perfect sedans like Maruti SX4 and Swift Dzire in that range and Indigo CS, Ford fiesta, IKon in much cheaper range. Fiat should review its pricing strategy for Punto to become success.

I’ve bought 17 new fiats one after the other and now love the PUNTO grandee. But fiat hav’nt brought out any new version that is likeable so what do they expect us to purchase next in that non turbo catagory. The only other fiat I dream about is the BARBIE ‘hot pink’ 500 car but it is far to expensive if it is put into prodution.
So is in there anything in the pipeline? similar to the Grandee size, or are we left stranded with an ageing car and have to change brands.
