Live IPL Preview: Delhi DareDevils vs Deccan Chargers Semi Final 1 (May 22 – 8 PM) in Centurion Preview
For the past 34 days we have seen wonderful cricket in 56 electrifying matches. The top four is now clear. We have reached almost the final stage of DLF IPL 2009 and the last match had been a thriller and Royal Challengers Bangalore nudges to the 3rd spot on the table ahead of Deccan Chargers down.
We have seen a scintillating display of batting by Manish Pandey, who becomes the *first Indian to score a century in IPL, that helped his team post a defendable good score on board. Deccan Chargers although conceded a defeat, have made to semifinal, because of a better net run rate that ensured their side to finish fourth ahead of the Kings XI Punjab.
Adam Gilchrist and his men will play Sehwag’s Dare Devils in the first Semi Final on Friday. While Delhi has been masterful in the entire tournament with 10 wins in 14 matches, I still reckon that this match will be a cliffhanger and the team that holds on the nerve will walk over with a win.
Deccan Chargers started their campaign very well looking as though they were starving for success after some good wins, their dominance subsided. Quite the contrary Delhi Dare Devils have been playing consistently well and it’s the only team that had not conceded 2 losses consecutively, its for the same they were the first team to have secured a semi final berth much earlier than any other team.
Delhi has some consistently performing team players in Dirk Nannes, Ashish Nehra, Sangwan, Dinesh Kartik and with Sehwag getting some good touch with the bat (against their previous match with Mumbai Indians) they can hope to emerge winners in the semi finals.
On the other hand, Deccan Chargers too have match winners in them RP Singh bowling quite consistently, Adam Gilchrist, Andrew Symonds (mind you, he likes to play in pressure situations like this), Rohit Sharma (he shone with his bat as well as ball), Dwayne Smith (on his day he is terrific) and there is devastating Herschelle Gibbs who inflates the team’s depth in batting and he saves 10-20 runs every match.
Although Delhi will play as favorites, I tip Deccan Chargers to win in today’s match! SuperSport Park awaits the war with the willows!

u r rite, but deccan will have to play out of their skins to beat dehli, if deccan controls sehwag and ghambr early, they will through to the final, remember its a pressure game and in these types of games two australians gilli and symond are the best in the whole ipl 2009.
