The blockbusting film makers have returned. Yes, the collaboration of Paramount and Hasbro who gave us the mega successful “Transformers”, are coming up with a new feature presentation - G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Directed by Stephen Sommers of ‘The Mummy’ and ‘The Mummy Returns’ fa,e, the film is an adaptation of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toy franchise in US of A. this is the first live action adaptation of the famous cartoon and toy franchise.
For history lovers, the movie is based on a wildly popular television cartoon series from the mid-80s, which is in turn based on a Hasbro toy from the 60s. The year 1987 saw the animated movie version with the name ‘G.I. Joe: The Movie.’ For some background on Joes, they are a fictional elite military unit and action figures in America. Led by the Cobra Commander, the Cobra Organization or Cobra Command, is the primary enemy of G.I. Joe and the world.
With an impressive starcast in the likes of Dennis Quaid, Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, Marlon Wayans, this action flick has been reportedly loaded with a lot of richness in graphics. The movie plot revolves around a mission of the GI Joes, this time saving the planet earth from a chaos. They have the latst technology, arms and all the stuff needed to detooth the enemy. May it be the Egyptian desert or deep below the polar ice caps, they shall be there to save the world this time against growing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization. The origins of the deadly Cobra organization are also explored in this new action flick. In all this adventure thriller is sure set to take the film world by storm.
The theatrical G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Movie trailers have been released and the reviews are truly amazing. The movie is slated to hit the theaters on August 7, 2009. If you were impressed by Transformers and The Mummy returns, this movie shall drag you to the theater for sure !!

i m in row who waitin for cobra. . .
i have been watching GI Joe cartoons since childhood. a year ago, i was thinking why Hollywood has not yet created a movie version of GI JOE. I am very happy now that i can watch a movie version of my favorite cartoon show.
GI Joe the movie is awesome. it focuses mainly on nanotechnology. this movie should have been made a couple of years ago.
