Jay Leno to Quit The Tonight Show
A host of The Tonight Show for impressive 17 long years and Jay Leno will be leaving the show this fall. And, yes, he is leaving the show with incredible ratings. Conan O’Brien will take over the show as its new host on June 1 2009. Call it coincidence, but Conan O’Brien had been Thursday’s (May 28, 2009) final guest as well.
Jay Leno will move to a new time slot this fall and hosting a new show named The Jay Leno Show, a decision by the NBC to shift his timings; this time slot isn’t tested as yet though. It will be an experiment by NBC, still many industry insiders believe that NBC will pull off a big success with their experimenting for the simple reason that viewers’ habits of viewing too shifted ever since The Tonight Show started.
Leno; however, misses the show. ‘The Tonight Show’ actually started in 1954, and the debutant host was Steve Allen. However, it is Jay Leno who had been one of the very popular hosts of the show and with his joke telling skills.
What does this mean to Jay Leno’s fans? They will miss him for a period of 3 months, until fall when we will witness him in a new avatar (maybe?) in ‘The Jay Leno Show’
