The 2009 Britain’s Got Talent which began airing on ITV on 11 April came to a final end yesterday ( 30th May 2009) with Diversity as the winner. Singer Susan Boyle was the runner-up, and saxophonist Julian Smith came in third place.
Britain’s Got Talent 2009 Winner-Diversity, the dance troupe: The 10-member dance troupe, Diversity, hailing from London and Essex is indeed the Britain’s Got Talent 2009 winner. They had received the most of the public votes in the competition, leaving out 61-year-old Scottish singer and famous celebrity Susan Boyle in the second place in the grand finale that concluded a while back.
The result shocked the choreographer of Diversity, Ashley Banjo. He was quoted of saying, “When you said our name I thought I was dreaming. Everyone who has voted -- you have changed our lives”.
The entire Diversity troupe have been together for 2 years; however, with their members in the age group of 12-25 they overwhelmed the Britain’s Got Talent judges with some awesome ‘transformer’ dance in the finals especially. I guess if you compare the dance with some American dance shows performance, people will have to agree that this is a mediocre performance. Although Diversity deserved to win against Susan Boyle who didn’t sing her best in the finals. Nevertheless, the 61-year-old singing prowess will go down in the history. In all, we can conclude yes, Britain’s Got Talent and people will have the memories of both Susan Boyle and Diversity for some days to come!
