2012- Mayan Idea of an apocalypse

Roland Emmerich thought he had his hands full of the disaster genre till he awoke to the idea of making 2012. Largely inspired by sheer fetish of net-seekers typing keyword ‘2012’, Roland Emmerich’s movie would be based on the Mayan idea that the world would end in the year 2012. This obviously leaves one with ample scope of filmmaking, fuming volcanoes, tightening seabed, advent of typhoons and many more tragedies of cataclysmic bearing.
Though many with an eye towards the genre believe that the movie might end up being a rip-off of “Day After Tomorrow”, Director Emmerich is strong in his conviction that the tale can be told in a delightfully novel way. For the purpose, he has chosen an ensemble cast worth its weight in gold. We have the services of experienced Woody Harrelson and his efforts would be perfecvtly punctusated by the presence of John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The movie was set to be released sometime in July this year but post production logistics have got its release procrastinated to November 2009. We are anticipating the teaser of 2012 with bated breath as there is far too little to glue ourselves on at the moment.

Strange that religious symbols from all religions are destroyed, except Islam. Big waves come and wash all faiths away, except that of Islam.
The movie contains the usual Hollywood symbolic crap.
