Sacha Baron Cohen’s Bruno brings to the fore, American attribute of living in denial. For instance, they would hardly accept their fetish for adopting African children or snubbing gay culture. Here, in what looks like weighty comedy, many such notions and “way of living” is being jibed at, shot satirical barbs at. Bruno simply excels in making a much needed evaluation of American culture and its faux pas. It might not be the best movie by a long margin but certainly trains its eye at being a superb documentary on world’s most talked about country.
Sacha Baron Cohen is Bruno and his role, after that as Borat, is again punctuated with humorous brilliance. Bruno is ostracized from Austrian Fashion after apparently fatal errors. He moves to America, the ghost land of human conviction. He tries to make the most out of his faith but is believed to be either too naïve or too outlandish. So you have sequences where her is beaten at swinger’s party or is caught at the wrong end of American political conservatism and correctness.
Bruno Movie Trailer
With Bruno, we can once again view the mastery of Cohen’s work. His Borat was brilliant to say but the least. Though it failed to be uniform in its aim, Bruno’s adventure in America is pretty more decisive and certainly launches itself on American pseudo-beliefs. Look out for Sacha’s interview with Harrison Ford, his abduction mishaps and pursuance by a Middle East terrorist group for his attires. These events are nothing short of absolute cinematic treats.
