Agyaat Hindi Movie Review -- Horror 2009
Unseen force spells horror and fear with no form. This is the main theme that the movie Agyaat revolves. And, if such Agyaat comes crafted from hands of RGV (Ram Gopal Verma) you can bet it to be a thriller to core, because Agyaat will be no different after his recent horror flick Phoonk.
According to the director and producer Ram Gopal Verma (along with Ronnie Screwwala), Agyaat is a creative work for which the inspiration is taken from Hollywood thrillers such as Alien, The Thing and even Blair Witch Project. No wonder as a filmmaker RGV always enjoys a tryst with thrill and unknown fear.
Agyaat Movie plot revolves around a film crew unit that has gone into remote jungles of Sri Lanka for shooting. The film doesn’t boast hifi stars and in fact Agyaat casting includes mostly newcomers and lesser known names such as Nitin Reddy, Priyanka Kothari, Ravi Kale, etc.
What sets the motion of the film is that the shooting gets halted as camera stops working, and the entire casting and crew members will have to wait until the next arrives. To while away this time, the members of the film unit decide to go trekking into the jungle with one caretaker of the jungle.
The horror sets in here. The fight for survival exudes the inner being of the individuals. It’s a fear of the unseen and unknown. The first instant is when the members find mauled body of the caretaker. But it does not stop there with him as the number of members who went for the trek begins to dwindle and the ones left behind in a desperate struggle to live. No one knew who it was or what it was that was spreading fear and terror as killings get continued.
Slated to be released in the month of July, it’s the score of Lata Mangeshkar in the film Gumnam of 1960s’…Gumnam Hai Koi is what Agyaat is all about. So to know who the Gumnam is, hit to the theaters near you on 24th July and watch Agyaat.
