What’s Your Raashee Review – Harman, Priyanka
Yet another romantic comedy and that is What’s Your Raashee, a joint venture of UTV productions and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions.
The movie is timed for a September 2009 release and that coincides with monsoons and it could be a good combo. What’s your raashee film is based on a Gujarati novel Kimball Ravenswood by Madhu Rye. The movie is the baby of award-winning director Ashutosh Gowariker, and this time for a change he is making a comedy for us.
After his stint with Aamir, Shahrukh and Hrithik in films Laagan, Swades and the most recent Jodha Akbar, this time the versatile perfectionist director decided to cast the flop couple Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles.
However, coming to the plot of what’s ur rashee; Harman has to find his dream girl in 10 days time to save his family from some unforeseen disaster. Opposite this gujju guy, it is the gorgeous Priyanka who essays 12 different characters belonging to the different zodiac signs.
Ashutosh Gowariker did rope Sohail Sen and his rerecording in the film is what is talked about most in the tinsel world. The buzz news is that What’s ur Rashee music album will present in a variety where it will be difficult to choose a favorite track as each will compete with other for being the best (Ah! Heard of self flattering many times). As to the teaser poster, I didn’t like it so much and will give it a thumbs down on that
But you never know Ashutosh Gowariker can overwhelm you with his creativity, so wait till the film release.
Harman looks good in this movie. Personally i think, he is a better actor than those Imran Khan, Emraan Hashmi etc. These kind of actors become overnight sensation after their few first releases but later audience forget them and they fall in the town. Actors with strong charachters are the ones who keep their success momentum going like Hritik, Aamir, Akshay.
