The game can be played in the PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3 version and here, the player is offered the choice to opt for any of the five superstars. They comprise of the Triple H, CM Punk, The Undertaker, John Cena and Chris Jericho. The storyline of this new version of the game is so designed that the particular wrestler character that you choose from every cut-scene adapts wonderfully to it.

This game greatly emphasizes on the tag-teams. The player is allowed to play according to his choices and choose from Batista and Rey Mysterio as and when he so wishes. If you are playing in the Wii version, you will discover that the game has included the Rode to WrestleMania mode after replacing the Main Event mode that was there in the previous version. The other interesting mode happens to be the Career Mode, which is a replacement of the General Manager Mode. The superstars and divas that you find in this game, can also be involved in the play along with the wrestlers as you opt to plat through the Create-a-Superstar mode.
