Looking for a good romance comedy to see on Date Night? Check out It’s Complicated starring Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep & Steve Martin. It has been ten years since their separation and Jane & Jake have finally achieved a decent relationship. They joke with some sarcasm naturally inserted like any cordial divorced couple. They have 3 adult children, one which is graduating in NYC. The family members travel up to the Big Apple to celebrate and being at the same hotel Jack and Jane run into one another one evening by the bar. What a coincidence right! After too many drinks and a late evening of reminiscing you can almost guess where the two ended up. If you can’t…just know that they end up the same hotel room! This night marks the day this divorced couple started an affair. Jane is not exactly happy being alone but she probably never imagined herself having an affair with her married Ex-husband!

How odd for the two to hook up IN New York City IN a hotel room years later!! Jack is successful attorney who cheated on Jane causing the failed marriage then ended up marrying his mistress who is pressuring him for a baby. Jane is a successful owner of a bakery in Santa Barbara and in the process of expanding her kitchen at home. During this process she meets a very kind and sweet architect (played by Steve Martin) whose blueprints are amazing. They end up being attracted to one another which only makes this love triangle more sticky since Jack can be a jealous man. Can this affair go on for much longer? Will it materialize into anything or will it fizzle out as Jane goes for the single architect who is also a divorcee? It’s Complicated might be the right movie for you and your honey this week. Most of the filming took place in New York City and the film was and directed by Nancy Meyers. Check it out in theaters. It was nationally released December 2009 just in time for the holidays.
